So I am making my first baby shower cake for my Sister-in-law next weekend and thought I should play around with different ideas, cake sizes, & getting use to all the different consistencies of icing.
This looks NOTHING like what I plan to do for her cake...I was just having fun.

A lady at the bank that I have gotten to know just received bad news yesterday. Her daughter Scarlett has cervical cancer. This is not the first time that they have had "the scare", so this is the real deal this time & are waiting to see how much it has progressed. They are really encouraging her to have a full hysterectomy. She is a young mother of 3 and 6 hours away from her family.
All the prayers are greatly appreciated
This weekend was a blast. Mom & dad came down and we invited a bunch of neighbors, friends, & family to kick off Grill Season at our very own 1st house. We had a ton of food & a ton of fun. Despite the cold weather, Scott was a great Grill Master & Tara, our neighbor, brought over some great dips and bread. We forgot to make the s'more my mother-in-law brought over but between all the food, we still ate very well. I have decided though that we need a bigger kitchen table because we all piled in and hung out and laughed a ton. (sorry, I forgot to take pictures this time, but I'll remember next time)
And then yesterday, it was Brian & Tara's turn for grilling. so Scott brought home our awesome Corn Hole Easter present from his parents and I think little Kennedy is going to go professional at Corn Hole.

Sorry I haven't blogged in a long long time but nothing exciting has happened.
Scott is still working on Keavy Elementary & I'm still at the bank. We wake up, get ready, go to work, come home, eat, watch tv & go to bed.
The past two weeks, I have taken a cake decorating class but that ended tonight. It was just a basic class so I don't feel like I've learned very much but I have finally made something from scratch. Icing is nasty now that I know what it's made out of but I did enjoy it while decorating :)
I'll post a picture of the cake tomorrow probably.
Oh and Scott finally got his truck. It's a pretty GMC Sierra so if you ever need to get him a gift....anything chrome for a truck to "pimp" it out.
Recently, we finally got new neighbors! They are pretty awesome. It's a young couple, just a little older than us & they have the cutest, sweetest little girl.
Eric & Jes decided on a name. I can't wait to meet Madelyn Homan in late June and give her all the gifts and outfits that I have already gotten her :)
Ok, well, that's pretty much it...
This saturay, there was a group of 50 people from Community Christian Church who all traveled over 5 hours just for 2 hours,freezing to death, to sit on a tube and sled for all of 30 seconds of fun :)
