Laurel Lake

Yesterday after church, Scott and I went out to the lake with friends from church. We had a blast! It was beautiful and relaxing but still had fun tubing and water skiing. Here are a few pictures...

Kentucky Family Reunion

What a great weekend! Kristy & Rich came in from Virginia, Eric & Jes brought Madelyn, and mom came down. We headed over to the farm for another fabulous Kentucky Family Reunion. We sat in the heat, swam, and even ate lunch out of a garbage can :) & then, everyone finally got to see our house for the first time. We missed you daddy! Hope I took enough photos for you to feel like you didn't miss a thing.

It's been awhile

Sorry I haven't posted much lately. Apart of me really didn't want to. We had good news mixed in with the bad and then life just got really crazy....it's still crazy but manageable.

Recently, Scott was in a car accident. I received the worst phone call of my life but thankfully it came from his sweet voice telling me he was ok but it wasn't good. It was the longest half hour of my life trying to find him. I am unfamiliar with the area that he works in and then our cell phones aren't the greatest and kept dropping our calls. I would get through to him long enough to make sure he was ok and if the ambulance had made it yet and then I would hear "click". I made it to the hospital to find out he was not there and they were unaware of his accident which meant the ambulance still did not make it to him. I immediately turned around and was determined to find him. I was just starting to pull into a gas station to ask the where abouts of the road when I saw his truck pass me by.

The only explanation as to why his is alive is God. No if's and's or but's. It was all God. Being the smart educated person I am :) I realized that if they have the truck then they must have him. I arrived the same time he did. He was a complete mess but at least alive. In the end, his cuts were cleaned up and had a few stitches but was able to walk away with only a broken collar bone. He did end up needing surgery but he goes Monday to remove the staples and he is good as new :)

On the flip side of that fun little adventure, my little Miss Madelyn Reese finally joined us in this world. She is absolutely beautiful! << she looks like me of course >> We were able to spend a few days with her and give her lots of hugs and kisses. I just couldn't take me eyes off of her and I practically had to fight her away from Uncle Rich's arms...baby hog :)

Now it's on to looking for a new truck, Scott is completing his very first project as a Superintendent and if it's A ok with Scott's doctor, white water rafting...

4 yrs Already?!

4 years ago [Yesterday] , Scott took me out on our very 1st date.

First of all, I cannot believe it has been 4 years. Some days it feels just like yesterday and then other days, I feel like I have been with him forever.
But anywho, our first year at Eastern Kentucky University had just finished up, I had just moved into my first apartment (wow! a lot of firsts) and Scott had moved back home for the summer to work construction. He came up regularly to "hang out with everyone" when really I found out later it was all for me << hmmm blushing >>
I was invited to a friends wedding that June but couldn't catch a ride with anyone for various reasons and didn't want to make the long trip by myself. So I thought, just as friends, I would ask Scott to go with me. We had a fun way up just talking and laughing but as soon as we get there, it all went down hill...in my mind...

First, he doesn't sit by me
Secondly, he never asked me to dance &
Thirdly, he talked to every other girl BUT me

humph! There it was. My answer. He did not like me

However, the ride home, back to the old Scott! We played the head-light game Padiddle (sp?) We didn't come up any consequences at the time and said we would agree on those later. Well, later came a few days later. I got a phone call and Scott asked me out on a date << he really does like me! >>

June 9th, 2006---> He took me to Chipotle...what a romantic :)
No really though, all he knew about the place was that it was my favorite. It wasn't until we were there and eating that I told him Chipotle is owned by McDonald's. Then the freak out fest began. He couldn't believe he took me to "McDonald's" for our first date.
We then headed over to the Ice Rink and skated. He made me fall right on my butt but it seemed like he was down more than up so ha! :) We then made it back to my apartment and watched a bunch of movies and ended it with going and watching The Break-Up. Not the best movie to be watching on a first date but we made it. Married now over 2 1/2 years, a great house, 2 crazy dogs, and good jobs.

I wonder what will happen in the next four years...

Next Cake Creation...

This Friday is my not so little any more nephew's birthday. I plan on making him an X Box cake. I am really excited! I found a great recipe for a chocolate, chocolate chip cake and I will top it off with my delicious butter cream icing....I promise no more of that nasty tasting fondant icing. For the game controller, I will mold a rice crispy treat and cover with icing and use different candies for the buttons.

Pray this turns out the way it's suppose to look :)

And the count down has begun for my little niece Madelyn to come. Any day now!! :)
